Lieutenant MORRIS WADE STONECIPHER 38376051, US Army. He is the husband of Evelyn Merrill Stonecipher, 741 Canal Street, Baton Rouge, and son of Mr. and Mrs. George Clawson Stonecipher, Haynesville. He attended Haynesville High and Louisiana State University (LSU) and was a process operator, Ethyl Corporation, prior to entering the Chemical Warfare Service, on December 14, 1942. He served at Camp Sibert, Alabama, as trainee, cadre, and platoon sergeant prior to going to Hawaii April 30, 1944. He went into combat at Peleliu and Anguar in the Mandated Islands Campaign and served at Leyte, P. I., and on Okinawa, where he was given a battlefield commission and also the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in line of duty under fire. Lieutenant Stonecipher served at Schofield Barracks, Oahu, T. H., becoming commander of Company B (4.2 inch chemical mortars), 88th Chemical Mortar Battalion, and Chemical Impregnating Officer, 110th Chemical Processing Company. In addition to the Bronze Star Medal (BSM) he has the Asiatic Pacific Theater (PTO) (three stars) and Philippine Liberation (one star) Ribbons, the Bronze Arrowhead, American Thereat, Victory, and Good Conduct Medals. He is also the brother of Staff Sergeant WILLIAM EARL STONECIPHER, Private REILLY BUTHAY STONECIPHER, Staff Sergeant DARNELL Evon STONECIPHER, and Shipfitter, Second Class R. L. STONECIPHER.
