Staff Sergeant Frank Clooney Reed 42023004 US Army. He was born on April 30, 1914, in Scriba, New York. He was the son of Frederick Sherman Reed and Florence E Peck Reed. He was a graduate of Oswego High School and of Syracuse University, Class of 1939. He marred Margaret H. Stone Reed on November 23, 1939. He entered the US army on August 5, 1943 at the age of 29. On September 13, 1943 he transferred into 3rd Battalion Headquarters Company, 255th Infantry regiment 63rd Infantry Division. He served with 3rd Bn HQ at Camp Van Dorn and in Combat in Europe. He was awarded the Bronze Stare Medal with Oak leaf cluster, The American Theater of operations Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal with  two battle stars the World War Two Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was discharged from the US Army on December 28, 1945. He received his master of science degree from Syracuse University in 1947. He was a science teacher at Oswego High school for 34 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was also a eucharistic minister and a member of the parish council. He was a past exalted ruler of the Oswego exalted Lodge and was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association. He had two children with Margaret. He died on December 8, 1989, in Oswego, New York, at the age of 75.
