Ensign Oscar F Sorenson 4271010

Ensign Oscar F Sorenson 4271010 Merchant Marine. He was born in Malmo, Sweden on November 6, 1912 the son of Gustav Sorenson and Esther Sorenson. He was also the brother of Douglas Sorenson, Hugo Sorenson, and George Sorenson. The Family immigrated to the United States in 1921, and lived in Salt Lake City Utah. Oscar Sorenson enlisted in the Merchant Marine, on May 11, 1942, in Salt Lake City at the age of 29. Shortly after joining the Merchant Marine he was sent to Port Hueneme California. Oscar was awarded the Merchant Marine World War Two Victory Medal. Oscar passed away on May 6, 1996 in Salt Lake City Utah at the age of 84.
