He served in combat with H Company, 254th Infantry regiment, 63rd Infantry Division he may have also served in B Company. He also served in the 5th Corps. He reenlisted in the US Army on October 18, 1945 and was serving in in the Signal Corps in the Hawaiian Department. He was awarded the, Bronze Stare Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal with two battle stars, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (PTO), The Good Conduct Medal,  the World War Two Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He married Mary Lou Rayner on June 23, 1951 in Shipshewana, IN. He was a member of  LaGrange First Untied Methodist Church, Meridian Sun Lodge F&AM #76, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne. He died on September 19, 2014, in Lagrange, Indiana, at the age of 88, and was buried there.
