Sgt. Joseph Pollock 13112366

Sgt. Joseph “Joe” Leonard Pollock 13112366 United States Army. He was born on March 7, 1922, in Pennsylvania, the son of Samuel Pollock and Rose Cohen Pollock. He had one son with May Pollock. Joseph enlisted on March 1, 1943 at the age of 20. At the time of his enlistment, he was 5 foot 10 inches tall weighed 150 pounds had Blue eyes and Brown hair. He trained at Camp Van Dorn Mississippi. He served in combat with HQ Platoon, K Company253rd Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. After combat was over he took part in the G.I. Carmen an USO show that he was a co-writer / director of and starred as Doktor Quilton Foss. The show toured Europe for months. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badgethe Bronze Star Medalthe Good Conduct MedalThe American Theater of operations Medalthe European Theater of Operations Medal ETO with 2 battle stars, the World War Two Victory Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal. He returned to the United States on March 2, 1946. He was discharged on March 27, 1946 at the age of 24. In 1950 he was working as a Social Studies School Teacher and was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He died on April 7, 2004 at the age of 82.
