Corporal James Domenick Maiura 33838791 was born in 1926. He was the son of James Maiura, and Rosena Maiura of 6808 Dicks Ave Phila Pennsylvania. He enlisted on October 26, 1944 at the age of 18. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 8 inches tall had blonde hair and blue eyes and weighed 132 pounds. On March 27, 1945 he was assigned to the C Company, 253rd Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. After Victory in Europe Day he was transferred to A Company, 253rd Infantry. He returned from the ETO on March 2, 1946 and served in C Company, 67th Tank Battalion, at Camp Hood Texas. He was discharged on August 5, 1946 at Fort Dix New Jersey, at the age of 20. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medals BSM, The Combat Infantry Badge, the American Theater of operations Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal, World War Two Victory Medal.
