Staff Sergeant John L Liberatore service number 31371979 United States Army Killed in Action. He was born on December 27, 1921, in Massachusetts, the son of Felice Antonio Liberatore and Annie Scatalini Liberatore. He entered the United States Army on August 23, 1943 at the age of 21. He was married. He served in E Company, 253rd Infantry regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. He entered E Company, on April 29, 1944. He died on February 5, 1945, at the age of 23, and was buried in Mansfield, Massachusetts in 1948. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal, the World War Two Victory Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
