Staff Sergeant Gordon Franklin Lake 36109881 US Army. He was born on March 8, 1918 in Hamilton, Canada, the son of Chalmer Roy Lake and Annie Maud Bishop Lake. He immigrated to the united states with his family on May 24,1923 at the age of 5. He married Marian Covan Lake on March 29, 1941 in Flint, Michigan, they lived at 1130 Markham Ave Flint Michigan. He entered the US Army on April 10, 1941 at the age of 23. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 7 1/2 inches weighed 145 pounds had blue eyes and blond hair and was working for Fuller Brush Co. At the time of his enlistment he had had 2 years of college. He served in Combat with the Headquarters Battery, 373rd Field Artillery battalion, 100th Infantry Division. He transferred into C Battery, 718th Field Artillery battalion, 63rd Infantry Division from the 100th Division on June 26, 1945. He died on November 15, 2008 at the age of 90, at the time of his death he was living in Savannah, Georgia.
