S/Sgt. William W. Franklin 18020611 KIA
S/Sgt. (Tec /4) William Wesley Franklin 18020611 KIA US Army. He was born on April 20, 1922, the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Franklin of Bluff Dale. Attended Morgan Mill High School. He entered the US Army on Aug. 14, 1940. He trained at Ft. Sill, Okla. Served in France and Germany. He served in G Company, 378th Infantry, 95th Infantry Division. He was Killed in action in Germany on January 1, 1945 at the age of 22 his body was returned to Texas in 1949. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO, the World War Two Victory Medal, and American Defense Medal.
