Private First Class TROY L. EVANS 38244186, Army Air Corps. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex M. Fields of, 2833 Judson Street, Shreveport Louisiana and brother of Private First Class NEWELL L. EVANS POW. Private First Class WILLIAM MURRAY EVANS, Private First Class WILLIAM W. FIELDS and T/ Sergeant FORT A. FIELDS. He was born February 22, 1922, and attended schools in Coushatta. He was a farmer and welder before his induction October 24, 1942, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 20. He was assigned to Barksdale Field for AAF training. Going overseas September 23, 1943, he was first stationed in Australia and New Guinea and fought for three years, two months and seventeen days, until December 14, 1945. He was awarded the American Theater Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater (PTO) Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
