First Lieutenant (Medical Administrative Corps) Donald F. Kramer O-2047030, United States Army. He served in Medical Detachment, 253d Infantry Regiment, 63d Infantry. On April 4, 1945, in the vicinity of Offenau, / Untergriesheim Germany. When a platoon of engineers had been ambushed by a German outpost, Lieutenant Kramer and two other men were called to the scene. Only a few yards from the actual fighting and under fire, Lieutenant Kramer went forward and proceeded with the evacuation of the seriously wounded men and returned to complete the removal of those less seriously injured. He earned the Silver Star Medal for this action. He also served in Headquarters 253d Infantry Regiment, 63d Infantry Division, and the 363rd MEDICAL BATTALION, 63d Infantry Division. He was awarded the the Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf Cluster (BSM), The Combat Medic Badge, The American Theater of operations, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO with 2 battle star, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
