PFC Ray Stephen Dixon

PFC Ray Stephen Dixon 14129011 US Army. He was born on October 3, 1920 in Gibson Georgia. He was the son of David M. Dixon and Bessie T. Dixon 1920 Fenwick St Augusta Ga. Before the war he worked at worked at Clearwater Mfg Company in Aiken South Carolina. He entered the US Army on July 15, 1943 at the age of 21 at Fort Mcpherson in Atlanta Georgia. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 6 inches tall weighed 112 pounds had Blue Eyes and Blonde hair.

He served in A Company, 255th Infantry regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. He served with them in Combat in the European Theater. He transferred out of A Company and into 55th Ord Group on August 27, 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Stare Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal with two battle stars. the World War Two Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal,  and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was married to Dorothy Cosnahan Dixon in Union North Carolina, on September 1, 1942. Reverend Ray Stephen Dixon died on October 23, 2013 at the age of 93. He is interned at Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard Oklahoma.
