He is the brother of SoM3/c PHILLIP S. COPLEY JR. (KIA),  MoMM3/c JOHN C. COPLEY, SoM3/c CHARLES EDWARD COPLEY, Private First Class LILLIAN COPLEY (WAC), of, Warfield, Kentucky.  He is also the brother in law of Master Sergeant BERNARD B. BRAGG.
