Private First Class Annis Edward Cogar 39049708 US Army KIA. He was born on March 17, 1911, in Rainelle, West Virginia. He was the son of Norman Jackson Cogar and Lucy Florence Strange Norman. He married Christina Marie “Tina” Dragoni on November 13, 1938, in Martinez, California. They had three children during their marriage. He was working for Shell Oil Company in Martinez, California. He enlisted in the US Army on April 1, 1944 at the age of 33. At the time of his enlistment he was 6 feet tall weighed 165 pounds had brown hair and blue eyes. He joined D Company, 254th Infantry regiment, 63rd Infantry Division, on October 27, 1944. He served in the the European Theater and was Killed in Action on April 9, 1945, in Germany at the age of 34, and was buried in Glendale, California. He was Awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO with 2 battle star, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
