PFC Billy G. Campbell 38629856 Private First Class Billy G. Campbell 38629856 US Army, son of Mrs. Gertrude Campbell, and the brother of PVT Jim Campbell of Corsicana Texas. Billy graduated from Corsicana High School. He entered the Army Infantry in 1944, and served in Europe. He entered A Company, 253rd Infantry, 63rd Infantry Division on July 15, 1944. On April 7,1945 in the vicinity of Kressbach Germany. Private First Class Campbell crawled along the side of a ridge with several other men, he rushed and captured enemy machine gun positions which had set up cross-fire preventing the company from advancing in the attack. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal With a V and an oak leaf cluster, The American Theater of operations, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO with 2 battle star, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
