S 2/ c Horace Brown, US Navy. He was the son of Mrs. Ruthie J. Brown, Gilmer, husband of Hulean Freeman, he was the brother of Pfc. Coy R. Brown, and S 2/ c Horace Brown. Horace attended New Mt . He entered Seabees in 1943, trained at Camp Shoemaker, Cal. Served in Hawaii, Philippines, Okinawa, and Japan. Awarded PTO Ribbon with 4 Battle Stars and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was discharged in 1945.
