Cpl. Edward Stephen Bezilla Sr. 35288487 US Army. He was born on January 30, 1913 in Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph D Bezilla and Mary E Bezilla. He entered the US army on March 16, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio, at the age of 29. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 9 inches tall weighed 175 pounds he had brown eyes and brown hair. On December 11, 1943 he was aboard LCI(L) 456.
On February 21, 1945 he entered, F Company, 253rd Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division from the 71st Reinforcement Battalion along with; Pfc. Thomas E. Brown 32751247, Pfc Hugh J. Burns 37186329, PFC Walter J. Dilbeck, Jr. 35841476, Sgt. Charles E. Dixon 34924565, Pfc Roy U. Doan 35840965, Pfc. Grady Lee Dobson 34973979, PVT Roy Dotson 33821574 KIA, PFC John “Jack” I Douglas 39299432 KIA, PFC Wayne W. Dow 6911009 KIA, PFC. Marvin D. Drumheller 33887019, Pfc Charles E. Duggan 36984170, T/4 John Zito 39680847. He earned the Bronze Star medal for Meritorious achievement on April 6, 1945 in Buchhof Germany. On April 8, 1945 he was wounded in the Back due to shrapnel near Stine Germany. He was taken to the 51st Evacuation Hospital. He returned to the United States on June 19, 1945. He was discharged on June 27, 1946 at the age of 33. He died on on May 15, 1980 at the age of 67 in Youngstown, Ohio.
