Private WILLARD J ALLEN Jr. 37643501 KIA US Army. He was born on January 23, 1923. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Allen, Sr. He was married to Alice Belle Cummins. Willard entered the service on July 14, 1944, at the age of 21. He had sixteen weeks of basic training at Little Rock, Arkansas. He was sent overseas in January, 1945. He served in the 104th Infantry division and the 78th Infantry Division. At the time of his death, he was a Private with 311th Infantry, 78th Infantry Division. He died of his wounds on February 8, 1945. He died from wounds received on the battle fields of Germany, and was 1st buried in Holland in a Military Cemetery.  His body was returned to Missouri in 1949. He was posthumously awarded, Bronze Star Medals  (BSM), the Purple Heart Medal (PHM), The Combat Infantry Badge,  the American Theater of Operations Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal, and the  World War Two Victory Medal.
