Staff Sergeant EARL L. KERBOW 18039731 Killed in Action, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl B, Kerbow, and brother of Staff Sergeant JOSEPH E. KERBOW (KIA) of Dallas. Staff Sergeant EARL L. KERBOW was born September 13, 1921, in Texas, and attended Sunset High School in Dallas. He volunteered for service January 14, 1942, at the age of 20. He served in the Army Air Corps; and trained at Sheppard Field in Texas, and served overseas, stationed at a base in England. Sgt. Kerbow served in 368th Bomber Squadron, 306th Bomber Group, Heavy 8th Army Air Force and participated in raids over Western Europe from September, 1942, until January 3, 1943, on which date he was killed in action on a combat mission on St. Nazaire Submarine Base. The Purple Heart (PHM), Air Medal with three Clusters, Presidential Citation European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (ETO), American Theater of operations, and The World War Two Victory Medal.
