Machinist’s Mate 2nd Class Carl W. Waggoner  6268704, KIA US Navy. he was the son of Bert Waggoner, 2316 Garfield Ave., Terre Haute Indiana. He served aboard the USS Newcomb DD-586. On April 6, 1945 off of Okinawa Ryukyus Islands, he was Killed in Action when a kamikaze struck the USS Newcomb DD-586. He was awarded the  Purple Heart Medal,the Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations Medal (PTO), The American Theater of operations Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
