Technical Sergeant LUTHER ROLAND STEVENS
Technical Sergeant LUTHER ROLAND STEVENS, U. S. Army. He is the son of Mrs. Belle Stevens of Route 2, Natchitoches, Louisiana, he was born February 26, 1922. After attending Natchitoches High School, he was employed as a Machine Operator for the Texas and Pacific Railroad. Inducted August 13, 1943, at the age of 21. He received his training at Camp Adair, Oregon, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and at Camp Butner, North Carolina. On November 28, 1944, he embarked for the European area (ETO) with the 70th Infantry Division, where he served in France and Germany, participating in the Campaigns of Central Europe and the Rhineland. The recipient of the European Theater of Operations Ribbon with two bronze stars, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB), the Expert Rifleman’s Badge, and the Good Conduct Medal, Technical Sergeant Stevens was honorably discharged November 11, 1945, at Camp Butner, North Carolina. His wife and two sons reside at 211 Sibley Street, Natchitoches, Louisiana.
