Second Lieutenant EMIL EDWARD SINDELAR O-728116 US Army Air Corps KIA. He was the son of Mrs. and Mr. Emil Sindelar, of 1408 South 12th, Omaha, Nebraska. He entered the Army Air Force on January 19, 1942. He trained at Minter Field, Bakersfield, California; Roswell Army Flying School, Roswell, New Mexico; Greensboro, South Carolina. He embarked for the European Theater of Operations — Tunisia in September, 1942. He served thirteen missions in the Mediterranean Area. He flew with the 381st Bomber Squadron, 310th Bomber Group, Medium. He was Killed in Action, February 23, 1943. He was awarded The Purple Heart Medal (PHM), The Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Presidential Citation, the European Theater of Operations Medal, the American Theater of Operations Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
