He was married to Vernetta Rosalie Thompson. He entered the US Army on October 20, 1942 at the age of 20. At the time of his enlistment he was 6 foot 1 inches tall he weighed 171 Pounds he had Blue eyes and Brown hair, and he was working at Horace Cooper.
