PVT. Bruce Emmett Ruby, 37593759 US Army KIA. He was born on April 19, 1919, in Spearfish, South Dakota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ruby of Spearfish. He married Anne Marie Keisz on June 17, 1938. They had four children. Bruce entered the service from Ipswich. He reporting for duty at Ft. Snelling on 26 April 1944, at the age of 24. He received Infantry training; and on 9 October 1944, he shipped overseas to England. Upon his arrival, he was immediately assigned to combat duty in France with the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. On November 9, 1944, he was killed in action along the Franco-German border at the age of 25. His body was interred at the U. S. Military Cemetery, Epinal, France. He was Awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, The American Theater of operations, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO and the World War Two Victory Medal.
