First Lieutenant WILLIAM T. RISER 20459075

First Lieutenant WILLIAM T. RISER 20459075, US Army. Husband of Mrs. Dorothy A. Riser, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Riser. He is also the brother of Quartermaster 3rd Class ROBERT BOYCE RISER, and Major HENRY L. RISER. He was born December 30, 1921, and attended Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University. Entering the Army November 25, 1940, at the age of 18. He served with the Infantry at Camp Blanding, Florida, as a machine gun section leader and at Camp Bowie, Texas, as platoon sergeant. Going to the European Theater September 25, 1942, Lt. Riser was assigned to duty in England as platoon sergeant and as training officer, going to France as a training officer with the Infantry. He spent thirty-eight months overseas and has the European Theater (ETO) Ribbon, the American Defense Service Medal, the American Theater Medal, and World War Two Medal. He was discharged January 19, 1946.
