Private Edward William Parrish 38697343 US Army KIA. He was born on November 2, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Mrs. Lizzie Parrish. He entered the service on April 20, 1944. At the time of his enlistment he was living Heavener, Oklahoma, and working for Bert Ford. He was 5 foot 5 inches tall and weighed 112 pounds he had Blond hair and blue eyes. He trained at Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Camp Hood, Texas; Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He embarkation for Europe on October 15, 1944. He served in the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was killed in action November 9, 1944, in Vosges Mountains less than a month after he got to the European Theatre. He was 20 years old at the time of his death. At the time of his death he had been in the US army for 7 months. He was buried at Grave: 16, row 26, Epinal cemetery, Epinal, France. He was awarded the Bronze Stare Medal, Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal, the World War Two Victory Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
