T/5 Arthur A. LeJEUNE JR. 18149406

Technician Fifth Grade Arthur Andre LeJEUNE JR. 18149406 US Army KIA. He was born on August 12, 1920, in Abbeville, Louisiana. He was the son of Arthur Andre LeJEUNE Sr. and Maude Butler “Sidoux ” WOMACK LeJEUNE. He was also the brother of Colonel Sterling Womack LeJEUNE O-557727. Before the was Arthur was a student at Louisiana State University. He entered the US army on August 18, 1942 in New Orleans Louisiana at the age of 22. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 10 inches tall weighed 172 pounds had hazel eyes and brown hair. He served in 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division. On March 15, 1945 the 357th Infantry Regiment was fighting near Löf Germany against the 6th SS Mountain Division. He died on March 15, 1945, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, at the age of 24. When he died his brother Lt. Sterling was fighting about 114 miles south of him. Arthur was buried in Hamm, Luxembourg, Luxembourg. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Purple Heart Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, The American Theater of operations, the European Theater of Operations Medal ETO, the World War Two Victory Medal.
