Private First Class Leonard G Kiger 36770582 KIA US Army. He is the son of Earl Kiger and Lois Kiger of Fairbury, Illinois, and was born on May 27, 1924. He entered the US Army on November 29, 1943 in Pontiac Illinois, at the age of 19. He served in the European Theater and was Killed in Action on November 5, 1944 in Germany, while serving with Company D, 109th Infantry Regiment 28th Infantry Division. He was 20 at the time of his death. He earned the Purple Heart Medal (PHM), the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB), The American Theater Medal, European Theater Medal (ETO), and the World War Two Victory Medal. His body was returned to the United States in 1948.
