LIEUT. Colonel PAUL V. KIEHL, O26397 US Army Medical Corps. He was from North Irwin, Pa., Dr. Kiehl graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, in 1940. Lt. Colonel Kiehl served with the Headquarters Company363rd MEDICAL BATTALION63rd Infantry Division, 7th Ambulance Corps. He earned the Silver Star Medal. Colonel Kiehl saw two men injured by a mine explosion in a field near Bliesransbach, Saar, Germany. While treating one of them he noticed the second, who had been blinded, wandering over the field strewn with mines. Against the advice of engineers who warned him that other casualties had occurred in the same field, he entered the field and led the blinded soldier to safety. Colonel Kiehl  also earned the Bronze Star Medal or meritorious service.
