Lieutenant WILLIAM GEORGE KELLEY O-722723 KIA, US Army Air Forces. Brother of Private First Class Bose FRANK KELLEY, JR. KIA, Private EDGAR REW KELLEY KIA, Sergeant JACK R. KELLEY. Husband of Dovie Smith Kelley, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Bose Frank Kelley of, 2920 Hardy Street, Shreveport Louisiana. He was born November 9, 1920, and attended Queensborough Grammar School and Fair Park High School in Shreveport Louisiana and Louisiana College, Pineville. He was pastor of the Evangeline Mission, now known as Kelley Memorial Baptist Church, prior to entering the Army Air Forces December 20, 1942, at Camp Livingston at the age of 22. He trained at Sheppard Field, Texas, and Florence, South Carolina, as a bombardier and went to the European (ETO) theater September 27, 1944, serving in England and at Fontainbleau, France. Lieutenant Kelley was killed in Fontainbleau, France, in a plane crash which occurred on November 10, 1944, soon after his arrival in the European Theater of Operations. He died at the age of 24. He served in the 668th Bomber Squadron 416th Bombardment Group.
