HOWARD ARTHUR CABRA 06398004 United States Army Air Corp. He is a son of Mrs. Belle J. Cabra, he was born November 3, 1918, and attended Leesville High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Forces November 17, 1936, at the age of 18. He served as an armorer at Barksdale Field, Moffitt Field, California, March Field, California, Hamilton Field, California, Oakland Airport, California, San Francisco Airport, California, and Bergstrom Army Air Field, Austin, Texas. On November 24, 1942, he embarked for England and was stationed at Goxhill Air Field and at Durford Air Field, Cambridge, as an armorer. He served in the European Air Offensive and the Campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, Germany, the Rhineland, and the Ardennes. He has the Distinguished Unit Citation (PUC) for the bitter winter fighting in the Ardennes, the American Defense Service and American Theater Ribbons, the European Theater of Operations (ETO) Ribbon with six battle stars for Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Germany, and the Air Offensive over Europe, and the Good Conduct Medal. After 33 months overseas he sailed from Granite, Scotland, and docked in New York Harbor July 25, 1945. He is a member of the Regular Army. He is also the brother of First Lieutenant PERCY Louis CABRA.
