Private first class Willie T. Browning 38667416. He was Born in 1916. He married Dora M B Smith on May 21, 1937. He entered the US Army from De Queen Arkansas. He entered the G Company, 253rd Infantry, 63rd Infantry Division on February 21, 1945 from the 71st reinforcement Battalion. On April 4, 1945 , in the vicinity of Untergriesheim, Germany Private first class Browning witnessed the wounding of his commanding officer, and, spurred on by a desire to eliminate the enemy, he left the safety of his foxhole. Advancing under intense enemy fire he routed the enemy from a panzerfaust position and killed numerous enemy snipers. His brave action added impetus to the company’s attack.
On June 27, 1945 he transferred to the 36th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Stare Medal, Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal. the World War Two Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge.
