Sergeant Glen M. Bowen, 20814091 KIA


Sergeant Glen Maion Bowen, 20814091 US Army KIA. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Bowen. He entered the US army on November 25, 1940 from the Texas National Guard at the time he was a Corporal. He sailed for the Pacific on November 21, 1941; he served with F Battery, 131st Field Artillery; 36th Infantry Division. He was member of “Lost Battalion;” captured by the Japaneses on Java on March 8, 1942; He died in a POW camp in Thailand on December 11, 1943; he was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously.
