1st lieutenant Louise Marie Betcher Waller N - 775063 was born on January 5, 1918, in Red Wing, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis John Henry and Sabina Henrietta Bertha.  She graduated from nursing school in 1941 and in 1943 she enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps, around the age of 25. She had her basic training at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey and Camp Haan, CA. She shipped out for Schofield Barracks Hospital in Hawaii with the 219th General Hospital where she served from 1944 until 1945. After the war she was assigned to the new VA Hospital in Memphis, TN. She met Sergeant Curtis Duke Waller at the hospital. On November 8, 1947 they were marred at the hospital chapel at the VA. She was discharged in February 1946, She died on October 2, 2005, at the age of 87.
