Sterling Leslie Anderson 39835173 US Army. He was born on March 18, 1914, in Dealta, Utah. He was the son of Willard Hans Anderson and Nellie Christine Anderson. Before the war he was a farmer and lived in Bear River City Utah. He entered the US Army on October 5, 1942 in Salt Lake City Utah, at the age of 28. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 8 inches tall weighed 150 pounds had blonde hair and blue eyes. He served overseas for 1 year 2 months and 29 days with the 491st Armored Field Artillery Battalion, 11th Armored Division.
He was discharged at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City Utah. He was awarded the The American Theater of operations Medal, The European African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal, with 3 battle stars for the campaigns of RHINELAND, ARDENNES-ALSACE, and CENTRAL EUROPE, the World War Two Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and the the Good Conduct Medal. He was discharged January 3, 1946. Later he worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden until his retirement. He married Joyce Sycamore on November 14, 1952, in Brigham City, Utah. Joyce died in May 1967 at the age of 42. Sterling died on July 19, 1995, in Brigham City, Utah, at the age of 81, and was buried there.
