Private First Class Grover E. Drum 44017121 United States Army. He was born on August 9, 1918. He was the son of Mary Alice Sherrill and Ernest Erastus Drum of Route # 1, Stony Point, North Carolina. He had 9 siblings including Private First Class John C. Drum. He entered the service on September 22, 1944. He went overseas on February 17, 1945, to the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre of Operations and fought in the South Philippines. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star ; Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star ; Good Conduct Medal; World War Two Victory Medal. He returned to the United States on June 2, 1946. He was discharged at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on July 6, 1946. After 1 year, 9 months and 15 days of service. Directly after the war his occupation was Hammersmith. He died on November 7, 2011 at the age of 93.
