Gimble, and the brother of Private Johnny Paul Gimble, Francis Gimble McAdams, WASP and AVT 2/c Eugene Poindexter Gimble, 3577030. Jacob graduated from Tyler HIGH SCHOOL. He entered the Navy in April 7, 1939, trained in San Diego. Served aboard the USS West Virginia, USS Aylwvn and USS Eagle at Pearl Harbor. Awarded american defense medal, American campaign medal Asiatic-Pacific campaign medal with four Battle Stars, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
