Private Johnny Paul Gimble US Army. He was born on May 30, 1926, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Gimble, Radioman, First Class Jacob H. Gimble 3812763, Francis Gimble McAdams, WASP and AVT 2/c Eugene Poindexter Gimble, 3577030. John graduate of Tyler HIGH SCHOOL Entered Army in September 5, 1944 in Dallas Texas. He trained at Fort Knox, Ky. Served in Germany. Awarded american defense medal, American campaign medal, European Theater, and one Battle Star, and the World War Two Victory Medal. After the war he became famous for playing the fiddl. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999 and he was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2018. He died on May 9, 2015 at the age of 88 in Dripping Springs, Texas.
