Sergeant Robert Lewis Ledbetter 37391038 KIA US Army. He was born on August 21, 1920, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Lula and Felix. He had one brother and one sister. He was married to Maxine Vaughn Ledbetter Fischer. He served in Company A, 382nd Infantry, 96th Infantry Division. He had served with the 96th Infantry Division since training and fought throw Leyte and Okinawa. He was Killed in Action on Oboe Hill Okinawa. He died on May 27, 1945, at the age of 24.
He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, The Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations, World War Two Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
