PVT. Anthony Dominick Benedetto 42139449

PVT. Anthony Dominick Benedetto 42139449 (Tony Bennett) US Army. He was born on August 3, 1926 the son of John Benedetto and Anna Suraci Benedetto of Queens New York City, New York. He was drafted into the United States Army on November 2, 1944, at the age of 18. He trained at Fort Dix New Jersey and Fort Robinson Arkansas.In January 1945, he was assigned as a replacement infantryman In B Company,  G Company the 255th Infantry Regiment, 63rd Infantry Division. He served in Combat with G Company taking part in the Rhineland Campaign and the Central Europe Campaign . In Late April he took part in the liberation of Landsberg district concentration camp sub-camp of Dachau. After the war was over he was reassigned to Graves Registration Service duties. Due to his unjustified transferred he was then transferred to the 314th Army Special Services Band. He returned to the United States in 1946. He was awarded the American Theater of Operations Medal, the European Theater of Operations ETO Medal, and the World War Two Victory.

Due to his unjustified he was transferred to the 20th special service company on July 24, 1945 he was then transferred to the 314th Army Special Services Band. He returned to the United States in 1946. He was awarded the American Theater of Operations Medal, the European Theater of Operations ETO Medal, and the World War Two Victory.
