5th Marine Division
The 5th Marine Division served in The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations. The 5th Marine Division was activated on November 11, 1943. The 5th Division saw combat during the Battle of Iwo Jima and sustained the highest number of casualties of the Three Marine Divisions during the Battle of Iwo Jima.
