PFC V. O. Preston Young 20812215, US Army KIA. He was born on May 5, 1921 the son of Mrs. Cora Gann and Wyatt Young of Box 152 McKinney Texas. He entered Army in November 25, 1940, trained at Camp Bowie, Texas, Ft. Lewis, Wash., Cornwallis, Ore., Ft. Crankhite, Cal., Miami, Fla., Key West, Fla., Camp Van Dorn, Miss. and Ft. Ord, Cal. Served in New Guinea, Leyte and Manila. He served in the 19th Infantry Regement 24th Infantry Division Awarded 3 Battle Stars and Purple Heart. Killed in Mindanao on May 11, 1945 at the age of 24.
