Sergeant Genevieve Willcox A-705396
Sergeant Genevieve Willcox A-705396 US Army WAC. Born 30 June 1921 in Superior, Nebraska. She attended high school in Greeley, Colorado, and was a nurse at the Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo prior to joining military service on 23 February 1943, at the age of 21. She received her preliminary training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa; and served with SCU 1550, WAC Det. at Fort Knox, Kentucky, SCU WAC Det. at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, and SCU WAC Det. at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Sergeant Willcox received her honorable discharge on 6 February 1946, and had earned the American Theater Area Ribbon, Service Ribbons, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Willcox of 1201 Fifteenth Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. She is also the sister of Private First Class Max Renwick Willcox KIA.
