Lieutenant ALFRED L. THIEDE

Lieutenant ALFRED L. THIEDE US Navy. He is the son on Martin Thiede and Emelia Thiede of 227 West 9th Street Fairmont, Martin County, Minnesota. He was born on February 8, 1904 in Fairmont, Minnesota. He attended State Teachers College, Mankato, Minnesota. He entered the US navy on September 9, 1942, at the age of 38. He trained at: University Of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona; Norman, Oklahoma; and Jacksonville. Florida. He went overseas on December 12, 1942. He earned the American Theater Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal. He was killed in action on November 6, 1944 in a plane crash.
