Corporal, JAMES M. TANNEHILL 38385172 U. S. Army. Husband of Louise W. Tannehill, 3321 Youree Drive, Shreveport Louisiana, and son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Tannehill of Shreveport. He attended Winnfield High School, Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, and Louisiana State University and was plant manager for Ocean Coffee Company, Shreveport. He entered the Army August 21, 1942, at Shreveport and served at Camp Beauregard, Plattsburg Barracks, Plattsburg, New York, Elkins, W. Virginia, Fort Dix, Trenton, New Jersey, and Camp Patrick Henry, Newport News, Virginia On October 13, 1943, he embarked for Oran, North Africa, going to Liverpool, England, January 19, 1944. Corporal Tannehill landed on Normandy Beach, France, June 13, 1944, and served in France, Belgium, and Germany to May, 1946, with Company B, 238th Engineer (Combat) Battalion. He was in combat in the Campaign of Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland, and Central Europe, and has the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater of Operations (ETO) Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and World War Two Victory Medal. Returning to the States, he was granted his honorable discharge at Camp Shelby November 19. 1945.
