2nd Lt. Frank Hambleton Symington O573535 (13001952 enlisted number) KIA US Army Air Corps. He was born in Lutherville, Maryland on June 13, 1919, the son of John Fife Symington and Arabella Hambleton Symington. He married Frances MacPherson Symington on September 5, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 25, 1940, at the age of 21. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 10 inches tall weighed 180 pounds he had blue eyes and brown hair. He served as the Assistant Flight Commander SQUADRON IV FLIGHT 18 of HEADQUARTERS AIR INTELLIGENCE SCHOOL Army Air Forces Technical Training Command Harrisburg, Pennsylvania EIGHTH COMBAT INTELLIGENCE COURSE (Second Phase). After this he served in He served in HQ 9th Air Force He was Killed in Action on August 16, 1944, at the age of 25. He was interned at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France PLOT D Row 22 Grave 3He was awarded the Purple Heart MedalAmerican Defense Medal, The American Theater of operations MedalEuropean African Middle Eastern Theater of operations Medal and the World War Two Victory Medal,
