Private WALTER REGGIE SNEAD 38522221 KIA U. S. Army. Husband of Mrs. Flora Yarbrough Snead and father of William Regsie Snead of 112 Atkins Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born November 1, 1909, and attended the Bradley, Arkansas, High School and the University of Arkansas. Before entering the armed forces, he was an independent oil operator. He entered the armed forces on November 14, 1943 at the age of 34, at Shreveport, Louisiana. He was stationed at Camp Fannin, Texas. Private Walter served in E Company the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division. He was fatally injured while serving overseas in the Italian Theater (ETO). He was Killed in Action on February 19, 1945, He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George P. Snead. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart Medal (PHM).
