Schulz, Jr., of Clarkson, Nebraska. He entered the Army on September 16, 1942. He first served in the Anti—Aircraft — United States Army Air Corps. He trained at Camp Hulen, Texas; Officers Candidate School, Camp Davis, North Carolina; Fort Bliss, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Coleman Field, Texas; Perrin Field, Sherman, Texas; Ellington Field, Houston, Texas. Received commission, April 15, 1943; received wings, June, 1944 and was transferred to March Field, California. He embarked for the Asiatic—Pacific Theater of Operations in March, 1945. He served in the operated from New Guinea and Samar, Philippines. He flew with 394th Bomber Squadron, 5th Bomber Group, Heavy. He was Killed in Action, June 17, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal (PHM), Air Medal, the Asiatic—Pacific Theatre of Operations, the American Theater of Operations Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal.
