Private First Class Charlie Rutherford, 34853166, US Army KIA. He was the son of Mrs. Julia Pearson of Concord North Carolina. He entered the service on November 23, 1943. He served in Company B, 370th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Infantry Division. He died of wounds November 29, 1944 in Northern Italy. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart Medal (PHM), the Combat Infantry Badge CIB and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (ETO). His body was returned to the United States in 1949.
