Technical 4th grade T/4, WACONDA F. Roscoe 34070671 U. S. Army. Son of Mrs. Allie F. Hicks, Shreveport. He was born January 13, 1915, and attended Fair Park High. Entering the Army February 25, 1941, at the age of 26. He served in the Infantry, Ordnance, and with the Quartermaster Corps. He trained at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, Camp Blanding, Florida., Camp Bowie, Texas, Camp Beauregard. He served in Headquarters Company, XV Corps, Camp Young, california, and Fort Slocum, New York. He embarked December 14, 1943, for the United Kingdom and served in North Ireland with Headquarters Detachment, Ordnance Section, XV Corps. He served in England and France in the same capacity and in France also with Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, of the 545th Quartermaster Group. He was in combat in Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland (ETO). He has the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and Victory Ribbon. Discharged October 20, 1945.
